Subway bakes fresh whole-wheat bread. We already knew that. And they have some decent vegetables to choose from. But recently I discovered something that makes it so much better: their Vegimax vegetarian patty. Here’s what I put on my sandwich now:
- Whole Wheat or Honey Oat (same as Whole Wheat plus some oat flakes sprinkled on top), toasted without cheese, with Vegimax patties
- Avocado spread (you get a generous two scoops of what seems to be pure avocado)
- Spinach
- Tomato slices
- Cucumber slices
- Onions
- Green pepper
- Olives
- Oil (only a bit, to taste, because their oil is mostly canola with a bit of olive)
- Black pepper (no salt)
A foot-long costs only about $7 dollars, depending on how they add it up (Vegimax doesn’t qualify for the $5 foot-long deal, but chicken breast does btw).
